The Visual Sound Gala marked the Chicago Artists Coalition’s 45th anniversary as a non-profit organization, celebrating its legacy of supporting contemporary art and honoring sound artist Camille Norment. The visual identity for the event was inspired by the texture and movement of sound waves, incorporating grainy, wave-like imagery to reflect Norment’s artistic focus. A cohesive suite of collateral was developed for the event, including the event poster, tickets, save-the-date cards, invitations, and a large-format banner. These materials were designed to work across both print and environmental formats, helping to create a unified visual experience leading up to and during the gala. A bold, minimal typeface was chosen to appeal to the target audience of artists and art enthusiasts, offering a contemporary, laid-back tone while maintaining clarity and impact. The overall design balances sophistication with approachability, capturing the creative spirit of the event and the organization it honors.
