Roots and Reports is a gardening and agriculture magazine that highlights global agricultural issues. This project involved designing a cover and interior spread that examines the agricultural labor shortage in the United States, with a focus on how changes in immigration policy have contributed to a declining farming workforce and disrupted food production. The visual concept was built around the theme of decay to reflect the urgency and impact of the issue. Original photographs of rotting fruits and vegetables were used as symbolic imagery to illustrate the consequences of unharvested crops. Stark, textural photography was paired with a clean, modern layout to emphasize both the emotional and economic weight of the story.
